Headline: Spec: Rally5-Kit We’re evolving a chassis with racing pedigree into a fierce FIA Rally5-Kit competitor. This is the journey of two friends taking things outside the box—learning to build as a team so we can drive at the edge in stage rally championships. This is a hands-on adventure. We partner with local experts like Dorset Sports Cars for their professional mechanics' expertise, but also do much of the stripping, fitting and assembling. We want to prove that with the right plan and passion, you can build a machine capable of tackling an ERC rally from your own driveway.

By fundraising for the hospitals where we practice—Yeovil and Dorset County—we ensure our efforts have a tangible impact on the environment we work in every day. To make this project viable, we partner with independent businesses. You don't need a sponsor or a £100k car—an autotest or navigational rally just needs a road car with an MOT. As members of Taunton & Woolbridge Motor Clubs, we're using our platform to bridge the gap between fandom and participation. We want to inspire you to get involved as a competitor, marshal, or fan.

Headline: From Quantum Physics to Apex Clipping Right/Super Motorsport isn't your typical rally team. It's the product of a friendship between two neurodiverse doctors with a shared obsession for detail. Piotr brings a theoretical physicist's mind to suspension geometry, while Darragh channels his family's Irish rallying heritage into logistics and navigation. Together, they balance the high-pressure world of NHS medicine with the equally demanding world of stage rallying.

The FIA Rally5-Kit specification is a modern, cost-effective entry point into international-spec rallying. Our plan is to convert our Suzuki Swift into a fully competitive gravel machine, component by component.

This is the next big step. We need a full, FIA-homologated weld-in cage (likely from Hockley) to make the car stage-legal. Once the cage goes in, we can weld the seat rails super-low for better weight distribution. Until then, it's safety first!

Done! We spent an afternoon stripping everything—trim, carpets, the lot. My living room was full of car parts for weeks! But the difference was instant; the car feels lighter, sharper, and much more nimble on the road.

Safety is non-negotiable. We have a pair of Sparco Evo seats (an Evo L for Darragh) ready and waiting to be fitted as soon as the car is back. Initially, we'll use bolt-in subframes, but they'll be permanently welded in once the rollcage arrives.

We fitted a Sparco R345 suede steering wheel. The suede gives incredible grip with no slip, and the dish brings the wheel closer to the driver. It was an immediate upgrade in control and "feel" for the car.

The stock suspension is surprisingly stiff and fun, but the bushings are worn. We're upgrading to polyurethane Powerflex bushings this week to sharpen everything up. Long-term, we're eyeing a full Bilstein or Reiger gravel setup.

Currently in the workshop! We're fitting Black Diamond G12 discs and PBS ProRace pads all round, plus braided hoses and high-performance PFC RH665 fluid. We need consistent stopping power before we add more speed.

Priority #1. Grip is the ultimate performance factor. We're hunting for a set of secondhand wheels to wrap in proper tarmac rally tyres. Great brakes are useless if the tyres can't transfer that force to the road!

To protect the engine and gearbox from rocks and heavy landings, a full-length, 8mm thick alloy "sump guard" will be fitted to the car's underside. We will also add kevlar or composite guards to protect the fuel tank and brake lines.

We've added our own decals and a QR code to the existing livery. We fitted mudflaps, but lost the left ones on a country lane! Replacements (and more sponsor decals) are arriving today to complete the rally look.
